I sure love my baby boy. He's over two weeks old and today is my due date. I'm so glad he came a little early, even if I wasn't completely prepared for an early arrival. We have settled comfortably in our tiny house. We barely have space for all of our things and Liam's things but it is totally worth it. I love being a mommy. I love how Liam is instantly soothed by my voice and my touch. It's like we are in sync with each other.
But, not all days. And today was a day we were not perfectly in synced. I was changing his diaper and applying some antibiotic ointment to his sore penis (from his circumcision) and I had been changing him for a while at this point. Usually if he pees he pees at the beginning so I wasnt expecting a huge pee fountain to come at me like a sprinkler. I was pretty close to his diaper area when it happened since I was working on the ointment situation. He got my hair and it was gross, but definitely funny! Lol. I had Kari Parish and Wendy Dallimore over visiting us and it was a good laugh for everyone. Kari is expecting a baby but we don't know what sex her baby is yet. So that was a little glimpse as to what she has to look forward to. :) As for Liam? I love him despite him getting me right in the hair. At least it wasn't my face!!!
The following photos just happen to be photos I took today. :)

Liam's birth story
The morning I was in the hospital I started documenting the time and events of the labor process. I'm so glad I did! Because everything seems so fuzzy now that I'm looking back. It especially got fuzzy after I started pushing.
Thursday 3/29 Water broke at 11:30 pm in bed. Poor CJ got soaked! Let the fun begin! I still hadn't packed my bag or Liam's bag. I was almost 38 weeks at this point.
http://youtu.be/y87Gbb-3pF4
Got to hospital at 1:05, measured 1cm, I was having minor contractions that I didn't even notice.

Labored and "rested" until 6:15 am, measured 2 cm. I say rested but I really only slept maybe 30 minutes since I was having contractions that were getting more noticeable.
Started pitocin at 7ish. Kept upping PIT over the course of a few hours.
Checked cervix at 1ish, only at a 3.5 but with horrible contractions. Got an epidural right after that and felt much better!
http://youtu.be/6REn3cbygXo
Checked at 4:15, had a "fore bag" and was dilated to a 6. Told me the baby's heart rate was dipping so I was put on oxygen.
About 4:30 My doctor popped the bag, and at the same time 3 simultaneous contractions caused large heart rate drop. Had to be given shot to stop contractions. Was given an internal monitor. turned off pitocin for a few hours. Had 4-5 people working on me and moving me around in a panic fashion. It was really scary and happened really fast. And the best part? CJ was sleeping on the bench in the room during the ENTIRE escapade. Just snoring away. I gave him a hard time afterwards and he felt horrible. Stayed on oxygen for a while after that.
7:00 Still no pitocin, having my own contractions and at 8 cm. Liam doing great.
7:30 contractions slowing down, adding a little more pitocin just to keep things steady.
8ish. Nurse said we could try to wait for mom and Kristin to make it. Not upping meds and trying to rest and relax.
9:36 at a 9 cm. Still no mom and sister.
10:15 started antibiotics to prevent infection since it had been almost 24 hours since my membranes ruptured (water broke). Still no mom and sister.
*Now this is where things start to get fuzzy. I was purely exhausted by that point and hadn't eaten anything in over 24 hours. I had only had ice chips to eat for the last few hours. I had hardly slept also.*
11:15ish Mom and sister finally show up! YAY! Soooo happy to have my family there. They check my cervix and I'm at about a 9.5. They up the pitocin just slightly and we play the waiting game.

1:00-ish a.m. (I think) I'm pretty much dilated completely except for a little lip of cervix that's in the way. My doctor says to start pushing and the cervix will move outta the way with a little help. I start pushing and about 45 minutes goes by with little progress (but progress none the less). My doctor can see Liam's head but noticed it's coming out at a funny angle. She suggests that I stop pushing and lay on my side for about a half an hour to see if he moves naturally into a more comfortable position. Let me tell you, it is SO discouraging to finally get to the point of pushing and then be told after 45 minutes that you have to stop and wait. Well we waited the 30 minutes then my nurse came in and said she was going to take her 30 minute lunch break. WTC?! Yes I had to wait even longer. Not to mention, at this point I started being able to feel AAALLL the contractions again. They didn't up the pitocin, they didn't turn down my epidural, but all the sudden I felt pressure and pain like none other. My body was officially ready.

3:00ish We tell the nurse and doctor I just cant wait any longer. Not just physically, but I couldn't emotionally handle it anymore. I HAD to get this baby outta me and I HAD to be done. So they brought in the mirror (or was it during the first session of pushing? I dont remember) and I start giving it ALL I had.
4:15 a.m. After another hour-ish of pushing I was FINALLY able to deliver my beautiful baby boy. He weighed 7 lbs. 3.5 oz. He was 20 inches long. He also had the chord wrapped around his neck twice, but it didn't cause any stress (thank heavens). He is perfect and is as beautiful as can be!
Here's a video. Warning: I'm in the video and I'm partially naked but no inappropriate areas are exposed. Just a post-delivery belly and legs in stirrups while the doctor was working on getting my placenta out.

36 weeks
Only 4 weeks to go! I'm bigger than a house, or at least I feel that way. I'm pretty sure he's had a growth spurt lately because not only do I feel heavier but my belly has grown almost 3 inches in the last month! My belly skin and muscles are being stretched like crazy! Right when I don't think I can get ANY bigger, I am once again proven wrong. Lol.
Liam has not "engaged" or dropped yet. I do get sharp pains right at my pelvis area under my belly but they aren't contractions. I'm pretty sure it's just round ligament pain because he's getting heavier.
I've been reading a book on the "Bradley method" of natural childbirth. It has been a very interesting and inspiring book! Now I don't plan on doing completely medication free but I do feel like its helped me prepare for the pains of childbirth that I will be feeling before I get the pain meds. My goal is to stick it out for as long as possible, we'll see how THAT goes right?! Lol.
I have NO stretch marks on my belly. None! Weird huh? I dont even have that line thing that preggos get sometimes. But I DO have some stretch marks on my hips and breasts. I can live with those :)
I am currently having these cravings: soda, candy, water, and fat. My only saving grace is the water. The other ones have made me gain weight which I have started watching again. But sometimes I just need a cheeseburger! Haha. The water helps to balance me out a little, but I get the most thirsty right before bed. This is a problem because I am up 2-4 times a night using the toilet. Not to mention the tossing and turning I do all night due to discomfort. Only 4 weeks to go! We'll have to wait and see. I'm also very thirsty throughout the night and morning.
Here's a picture of me at 36 weeks. I'm grateful that I'm getting bigger because that means Liam is growing nicely. Grateful for the little things! Can't wait to meet my little boy :) excuse my jammies, I don't care how I look most of the time lately :P

Officially UNCOMFORTABLE
I am currently almost 34 weeks pregnant. And about a week ago is when my body officially started aching and hurting like nobody's business. How can I only be 33 weeks pregnant? I still have 6 weeks to go? How am I making it? Well, I don't really have a choice.
At work my ribs hurt after only 2 hours of being there and sitting in my chair. Some days are worse than others (depending on the sites and chair I sit in on certain days of the week). But for the most part, I hurt halfway through the day on any given day. And the same thing is, is that in up and down out of my chair VERY often at work. At least every 30 minutes I have to get outta my chair to do something. So that does help my aching, but doesn't prevent it completely. Oh well.
Besides my body aching, the baby is genuinely starting to hurt me when he moves. Mainly because he's getting so BIG and running outta room in there (sorry that I'm so short-waisted Liam, blame your short grandparents and great-grandparents). But yeah, he's usually kicking my ribs and he is getting STRONG, which makes the cute movements that I used to love, pretty awkward and hurty. It's ok though, I still like them a little bit.
In terms of weight gain, I'm right where I'm supposed to be and this point in my pregnancy. I've tried to eat lots d fruits and veggies and am careful on the fat. But some weeks I'm worse than others. But I DO drink lots of water. So that's good.
Anyway, I've definitely hit a point where I'm counting down until he gets here. I don't want him to come too early, but I definitely wouldn't complain if he comes 1-2 weeks before my due date. Either way, I'll deal with the discomfort as long as he is healthy and my labor and delivery go smoothly.I also can't wait to kiss his little face!! :)
Here's a pic I took of myself yesterday. I was 33 weeks and 4 days. Looking huge or what?

Valentines Day
We really never make a big deal out of this marketing holiday. I don't want flowers or diamonds, or anything for that matter. But the day always comes and I see all this love stuff and it always makes me wish I made CJ do something for me. Yes, I have to warn him and tell him to do something (hinting is not enough, it must be spelt out).
Well this year I was feeling kinda blah and was hoping he would do something for me. So a day or two before Valentines day I bought him a big bag of twizzler licorice, his favorite, and gave it to him BEFORE valentines day. Giving him a days warning that I want a bag of chocolate, or something, I just wanted to feel like he was thinking about me and that he loves me (he has a hard time showing me through sweet gestures, which every girl loves).
So the day of valentines day, we go to work like every other day, and I'm excited to see if he's done anything for me after work. I was excited, but setting myself up for disappointment too. How sad right?
Well he texts me a "Happy Valentines day, honey" text during the day but that was about it. I went home after work seeing if he would come home with chocolates in hand, or something. And of course, he didn't. He came in the house saying, "so, do you wanna go to the movies or something?" I just tell him no because it'll probably be crowded. I try to move on without getting too upset. He says he has to run to the bank and that when he gets back we'll go get food, nothing fancy though.
He leaves and comes back, still with nothing in hand. I mentioned how I was slightly disappointed because he hadnt gotten me anything. He just goes quiet and starts to shut down (which is what he does when he's upset or feels bad). So I just leave it alone.
We get in the car and start driving to go eat something. He asks me if I had put my new insurance card in the glove compartment of my car, I tell him yes. Another minute goes by and he asks me, "can you open the glove compartment for me?" I said, "do you need a tissue?" and he hesitates and says, "yes." lol. Well I open it and what do I find? An amazon gift card and a big bag of hersheys almond nuggets. I started crying cause I'm a crazy emotional pregnant woman. And we laugh while I start telling him how I wanted to kill him. We end up going to Rubio's (yummy fish tacos) and going home to watch a movie. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world.
He just laughed and laughed that he played me! What a jerk right? Lol. He loves to play tricks on people, and I am no exception. But I am so grateful that he ended up doing something for me and I knew I needed to journal it. Although, it's taken almost 5 years to get him to come around with this sorta stuff, I'm glad he's finally figuring it out. I love him. :)
