I've been working myself up to make this blog post. Then I realized it was holding up a few other posts I've wanted to do (since I like to be as chronological as possible) so I've decided to bite the bullet and do it. Not because I didn't want to, but because I'm still grieving over the loss of my beautiful mother in law.
On December 23, 2011 Joleen was diagnosed with AML Leukemia. I cant remember the exact details but I know it was very aggressive. So aggressive that the doctors said had they not caught it, she likely would have passed within 2-3 weeks. Well she did some chemotherapy but still passed away just 5 months later on May 2nd 2012. The funeral was held in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, where she and her husband Jay Orr, lived. She was buried at the Manti cemetary, overlooking the Manti LDS temple where she worked as a temple worker for the last few years. The services were wonderful and it was a perfect way to celebrate such a wonderful woman. Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy:

This makes me soooo sad! :"(
ReplyDeleteShe truly was an amazing woman. She made a significant impact in my life. I remember coming over to visit CJ before the mission and always being greeted by Joleen's smile and excitement. She radiated warm and love, and I was always glad to be around her. She had a way of making me feel appreciated and looked after, which was something missing in the craziness of my home. I'll always be grateful for her influence.
